Actress Jean Simmons (Elizabeth Collins Stoddard) Is Dead At 80

Hollywood legend Jean Simmons (Elizabeth Collins Stoddard), who portrayed the matriarch of the Collins family in the 1991 Dark Shadows revival series, passed away at her home in Santa Monica on Friday January 22, 2010. She was 80 years old. It’s been reported she was battling lung cancer for some time.

Born in 1929, Jean made her movie debut in the 1944 British production Give Us The Moon. She would then go on to costar with Laurence Olivier, Marlon Brando, Gregory Peck and Paul Newman, among others, in various classics such as Hamlet, Spartacus, and Guys And Dolls.

She will be missed.

Joanna Going (Victoria Winters) made a memorable appearance in the NBC series "Journeyman" on Dec 19th, 2007, during the episode "Perfidia", playing the role of Lauren - a time traveler's lost love.
