What’s not to love (at first bite)? Vampires! Plus I kind of had the hots for Joanna Going. This show would of been nothing without the charisma and charm of Ben Cross as Barnabas! Boy I wish this show would of lasted longer! Love, love, love!

  2. Mike says:

This was the best show on t.v. and i still watch the dvd’s..all the characters, the settings and the story were just perfect together.

  3. Amanda Pike says:

I think what I loved most about the Dark Shadows revival series was Angelique, portrayed by Lysette Anthony. I adored Lara Parker’s Portrayal of Angelique in the original series but Lynsette gave an authenticity to the French backstory of Angelique. She was deceptively innocent looking while she could also seem menacing in a moment’s notice.

I think my favorite thing about the Dark Shadows revival tv show was the great cast. I love how Jean Simmons, a veteran actress from movies, such as, “Guys and Dolls,” and “Black Narcissis” played the matriach of the family. Roy Thinnis who played in many spooky tv movies in the 1970s such as, “The Norliss Tapes,” was in it. And, of course, the always wonderful, Ben Cross. He made the emotionally tortured, Barnabas both sexy and scary at the same time. He made Barnabas very empathetic. Plus, I just loved the irony of seeing an actor with the last name of Cross, play a vampire. I also liked the actor who played Willie. I felt so badly for him. And, lastly, I like how the vampire myth was kept intact in this story, mirrors, garlic, religious items etc. unlike many vampire stories today where they change so much.

Barnabas, barnabas, barnabas, so hot and sexy! I was captured by Victoria delicate, innocent, and yet strong in her own right. The show was great and every episode made you linger for more. Still hurt they never finished the story, but the ride was great!

The 1991 series is the best rendition of the original ever made. If it were not for the Gulf War, it would have lasted! Ben Cross definitely raised the bar too high for Mr. Depp in the process. Sorry to Mr. Depp’s fans, but I feel that another rendition simply will not work. They tried hatching plots to make viewers happy that made no sense at the end of the original series (including Barnabas admitting that he loved Angelique ***puke*** not realistic, guys…She did too many wicked things and I don’t ascribe to the motto “you always hurt the one you love”). I want a series or a movie with a REALISTIC solution, a logical plot and an ending so that they can move on to QUENTIN after all these years…My pic for Quentin? Matt McCaughnahey…

It’s hard to say really. I mean there are so many things I love about the series. If I had to choose one aspect I think it would be the romance between Victoria and Barnabas. Ever since I was a little girl I have always been intrigued by the fact that Josette and Barnabas’s love was so strong that she returned to him after death in the person of Victoria. I had seen the first few episodes numerous times growing up but when I finally watched the series in it’s entirety as a teenager I cried at the end. I looked at my mother (who had been a fan of the original as a child) with tears in my eyes and said, “But they were supposed to end up together this time around.” I love the way Barnabas looks at Victoria when he meets her for the first time, that look that says, “This cannot be, my Josette has come back to me.” I love their parting at the front door when Victoria kisses Barnabas on the cheek. I can only hope I have a love as epic as theirs, you know, minus all the deaths!

Everything!!!! Ben Cross was AMAZING!!! I really do not think a better cast could have been chosen not to mention it was a nice suprise to see Adrian Paul in there. Talented and sexy actors and actresses and a plot that kept you coming back for more. Just wish it would have lasted more than one season. And if it were not for the Golf war it would have I am positive!!! I really do not think I could only pick one thing to like most about it. The whole series was AMAZING!!!

  9. Robin Mckenzie says:

Well if i had to pick one thing I loved about Dark Shadows:the revival, it would have to be the amazing love story between barnabas and josette/victoria. Ben Cross did a wonderful job playing barnabas. I thought he was so hot. He was sexy but scary. I have this series on dvd and I watch it all the time. I love dark shadows.

  10. Kelly says:

I love the Dark Shadows Revival series because the ensemble cast was excellent and engaging, in addition to the superb writing and nicely flowing from one episode to the next.

Dan Curtis also made improvements on the original, such as Victoria being Josette’s reincarnation and Jeremiah being Barnabas’s brother instead of uncle. Just a wonderful series all around.

  11. Rachel says:

What I love most about the Dark Shadows revival series is the combination of consolidated characters and streamlined story writing. It cut out a lot of the subplots, highlighting the romance, longing, and despair surrounding Barababas Collins. I was hesitant to watch the remake because usually remakes are pretty bad and was pleasantly surprised. Ben Cross did not disappoint! Oooh that snarl! The writing was so good, that I got to watch basically the same plot in 12 episodes, that it took me over 400 of in the original!

  12. CJ says:

The ’91 DS revival series was my first exposure to the great world of Dark Shadows when I was 15 and I’ve been a huge fan ever since! It had such great characters with amazing acting. I still enjoy watching it again and again on DVD, the show was sooo awesome! I wish that it could’ve went on for as long as the original, but at least the revival fans can watch the wonderful show anytime and be transported back to Collinwood!

  13. Carmen Vitale says:

I loved everything about the 91 DS revival series. The acting backround music and the high qualitthat was missing in the original one. I wish they would bring the seri back. I hve watchd on DVD severall times.

  14. Jackie Walter says:

I love Dark Shadows the old and even the better revival one from 1991. I love the music and everything about it. When I first saw Ben Cross in Nightlife I told my mother he has to play Barnabas Collins, and he did. Between Ben and the music it made the 1991 Dark Shadows work. I was so sad when it went off the air. I would soooo love to win the soundtracts of the 91 Dark Shadows.
